Lasik is preferred by the patients to leave the contact lens or glasses behind and tackle the routine risks, like gardening, reading and many others. The patient may expect clear and crispy vision after the surgery, immediately.
One needs to understand and remember that the Lasik is a laser eye surgery and it obviously involves an incision and it takes some time to heal after the surgery. The process of healing of the body involves inflammation and it may impact clear vision. It is quite common for the vision to get blurred and continue for several weeks sometimes even months after the Lasik surgery, according to the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
The Symptom of Blur Vision
The blurred vision stands as part of the healing process of the body and so, mostly, you need to do nothing or just a little to treat and avoid this issue. In most of the cases, the problem of blurring will be faded with time, though total time to relieve from this system varies from patient to another.
Causes of Blur
However, in some cases, according to the journal, Ocular Surgery News, it points out that some of the patients react to the Lasik surgery unusually and blur vision of them. Laser, during laser treatment stimulate tiny particles of the cornea and these particles get swollen and eventually, block light that should natural enter the eye. It results in vision blurring and images would look indistinct. This problem can be medicated easily by doctors, however, this symptom is healed by itself, as the inflammation gets reduced and site also gets healed.
Other cause of blurred vision is infection, especially, when the infections are caused from bacterial colonies that grow on the eye’s surface. This issue can also be addressed by medication, by the surgeon. The symptom can be treated again medically, by the doctor.
Return of Blurring
Blurring may also be returned after a few years after Lasik surgery. It is because the eyes do have transformations with age, since the eye lens get stiffen and lens controlling muscles may become weaker. This is an age related and natural process and it impacts of the eye portions, which are untouched during Lasik surgery. Hence, this blurring caused from age and not from Lasik and so cannot be corrected by corrective procedures of Lasik. The only solution can be contracting an eye doctor, preferably the eye surgeon, who performed Lasik surgery, who is well aware about the conditions and complications related to the eyes.
