With the increasing health consciousness by the people, daily workout activities have become part of day to day activities in their lives. There is no wonder that many of the Lasik patients enquire about how soon they can get back to these daily workouts.
Lasik Procedure, Recovery and Workouts
The procedure of Lasik involves creating a flap. So, if any harder activities like daily workouts or sports are started, before this flap is recovered, it would be inviting the complications related to flap. Even wiping sweat over the eyes, by applying small pressure over the eyes can also result in complications of the flap. Full length of recovery has to be completed, before resuming regular daily workout activities.
Resuming Workouts
A Lasik patient can return to simple workouts like walking, running and other small stressful activities after three days of the surgery, provided the eyes are untouched consciously. You need to be very mindful about any stress or discomfort experienced to your eyes and ensure that these workouts are performed slower enough.
If you are a serious workout passionate lover and prefer to go for sports, martial arts, boxing and other high-intensity workouts, you need to wait for at least one month after the surgery.

You need to be very careful about the eyes during workouts and make sure that the following special care instructions are followed.

So, wipe off sweat on the forehead itself, without falling down to prevent any discomfort and blurred vision.

This protective eyewear can help the eyes to stay away from debris and dirt to prevent irritation of the eyes, while doing exercises. The same can protect you from trauma and high impact, while performing hard workout activities.
- If your workout is extended to playing sports, like tennis, basketball, prefer to wear sport goggles, made especially with polycarbonate lenses. The material polycarbonate is durable and is famous for its property of resistance, which could help shielding the eyes against fast moving objects.
- Give at least one month of recovery time, before resuming high impact and intense exercises and follow all the standard practices and precautions more consciously.
